Midwest Biennial

I was one of the lucky artists to be in the Midwest Biennial show in Wausau Wisconsin. There were a lot of wonderful and talented artists there so it was an honor to be in the same show as all of them.
Here is the link to the show if you are interested

My family, boyfriend and I went to a night called the Exhibitour and it was really cool. They had live bands, dance lessons and free wine where ever you went. Each store had a featured artist and all of the artists were really great especially a woman called Joan Slack that did pottery and made bowls with little bird houses inside of them. It was very neat to look inside the bowl and see different surprises. We had a really wonderful night and it was a pleasant surprise on how much a small town had so much to offer.

R.I.P Natalie's Wall

One of my good friends Natalie bought a house this year and asked me to paint her bathroom wall. So I did but apparently her mom wasn't too found of the wall and when she left one day she tore it down so she could do a spackle finish instead. All good things must come to an end eh.

Well I have a new show in about a week. I'm pretty excited..so excited I'm just going to print my whole darn acceptance letter. Above is the painting that they choose for the show!

Colleen juried the work yesterday (May 29) and found the quality of the work very high; jurying was very competitive with 135 entries.

Old Painting

I've been thinking about using collage again. I have had some ideas for a series but just don't have time to scour resources for photos. Here is a really old painting I did in college about a dream a friend once told me about and our relationship. It was a rocky relationship at the time but currently it's bloomed into a nice existence. I've had a lot to say recently but not a whole lot of ways to say them. I guess for the most part I can see myself growing away from abstract paintings for a while. This is probably good...but a really weird change for reasons I can't even really explain!

Cd card

For our Anniversary Dave and I decided to make cards for each other as gifts so I decided to make him a Mix Cd/card. It folds in half and here is the front/back. Inside I put lyrics and pictures from our trips and all the stuff that we did during the year. It was really fun to make.

Cut and Paste

Remember when Graphic Design only meant cut and paste? Well I really don't..lol...only because I'm new to this stuff..but cut and paste things in a composition is my favorite. I guess because it makes you feel more like an artist instead of a graphic designer.
These are old projects that I found using found objects/pictures and scanning them.
